Manisha Chaudhry is an author, translator and editor and has worked extensively in publishing and the development sector on gender, health and education. With over 25 years of experience, currently she is the Editorial Head at Pratham Books, India’s largest not for profit, multilingual children’s publisher. Her work has been published by Kali for women, Zubaan Books, Oxford University Press, Pratham Books and other leading publishing houses. Her translation of well known Hindi novelist Chandrakanta’ sAilanGaliZinda Hai published as A Street in Srinagar by Zubaan Books was shortlisted for the DSC Prize for literature. She leads many initiatives to promote reading and on issues of equity in primary education. She was a founder trustee of Bookaroo and she is festival advisor to Jumpstart and the Kahani festival.
