Ipshita Mitra did her Bachelor’s in English Literature from Miranda House, Delhi University in 2010 before completing her Master’s in English Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. Thereafter, she was an intern at Asian Age before becoming a lifestyle journalist with Times of India where she wrote features on Books, Art and Culture, Food, Fashion and Travel. During her four-year tenure, she had the occasion to interview filmmaker Aparna Sen, lyricist and author Gulzar, veteran theatre artist and actor Deepti Naval and Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna, among others. She has also freelanced with magazines like Huffington Post (India Blogs), Wasafiri and Women’s Web.
Her short story, ‘Cacophony of Silence’, was recently published in an anthology by Nikkei Voice, The Japanese Canadian National Newspaper.
She has now taken on a new role as Editor at Om Books International.
