Born in Badarpur, Assam in 1954. Parents taught in a school.
Raised in the railway township of Maligaon in the outskirts of Guwahati. Finished schooling from NetajiVidyapith Railway school. Eventually became aEng Lit major from Guwahati University.
Joined State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer. Spent my entire working life there. Have since retired.
Been writing in fits and starts since my school days. Got involved with little magazines while at college.
Co-editingEkaebongKoekjan, a little magazine of some repute, for the last 37 years.
Two collections of short stories have been published so far. RupkatharPratyabartan (Return of the Fairy Tale), and SimanterOporThomkeThakaPaa( Footstep Suspended over the Border).
The first part of a long fiction “Desh” (‘Homeland’) has come out in a literary journal recently.
Married with two sons. Based in Guwahati.
